From January 29 through February 1, 2020, Stephan Koplowitz gave two lectures and conducted a three day workshop on Site-specificity and the Director's Eye . The workshop was conducted at the invitation of the Goethe Institut Gulf- Region and hosted at Warehouse421 in Abu Dhabi.
This workshop approached the act of creating works of theater and performance through exercises using the conceptual lens of site-specificity. The intention was to spark new approaches in text creation, character development, movement and production design in terms of set and sound.
During this three-day workshop, participants worked on how to look at space from a variety of perspectives.
On Weds, January 29th Koplowitz gave a lecture on his site-specific work entitled: Architecture, Site and Performance- Creating New Forms for Public Art which took place at the A4 Space at Alserkal Avenue.
